 Description  « Hide
If you take a snapshot to disk (File/Snapshot to Disk or Control-`) with High-res Snapshot (Advanced/High-res Snapshot) enabled, the image saved to disk does not include glow. Snapshots WITHOUT high-res enabled show glow correctly.

The first image is a snapshot to disk; the second is a cropped screen capture of the same scene that illustrates what it is supposed to look like.

I have encountered the same problem with GeForce 8800 GTX card. I have noticed that the glow comes back in some measure if I uncheck the "Constrain Proportions" box, even without changing the dimensions.

I have also encountered this very same snapshot bug with the 8800M GTX.

(This snapshot only has one prim in it, set at 100% glow)

I am seeing something that is probably related to this bug:

When taking snapshots at resolutions higher than my actual screen, the snapshot to disk is accurate, but the snapshot preview (and sometimes the scaled-down uploaded snapshot) are sometimes missing glow altogether. At some zoom level and resolution combinations, you can see the glow on the snapshot, but not at the right location. Also, "High Res Snapshot To Disk" is not activated.

This was taken with Henri Beauchamp's CoolSL client, but I think it also applies to the LL release client, as it doesn't seem to contain snapshot or glow related patches.

I updated to major... as a SL photograper this is VERY annoying, glow disappears completely at high-res snapshots.

What is the status of this?

Hi!

I have the same issue (i have GeForce 8800 GT) I can see the glow, even in the preview, but never gets to the file i save to my disk. I tried the constrain prop and now the glow is a white dot... Disabling the high res pics doesnt work for me

Please I work as a photographer too and really REALLY needs this to get solved!

TY

Leah

I have the same issue, also with a 8800GT graphics card.

I am having the same issue on my nVidia 8500 GT/PCI-E/SSE

Thickbrick Sleaford added a comment - 22/Aug/08 02:27 PM
Maybe there are actually 2 bugs here, and my misplaced glow (on nVidia 7300) is not related to the original bug report (on nVidia 8800)? For me, when using a custom-sized snapshot, disabling "Show Interface" and enabling "Constrain proportions" makes glow show up ok.

When the snapshot resolution is higher than the window size and "constrain" isn't checked, I still get glow in the snapshots, but in wrong places: it looks like it was rendered at the same size as the SL window and then tiled over the snapshot (which is larger than the window).

To reproduce: take a snapshot or an object with glow at custom size larger than the window size and "constrain proportions" turned off.

Same trouble, GeForce 7600 GS/PCI/SSE2 here.

Unfortunately for me, turning off "Constrain Proportions" for my snapshots creates ugly lines across sky and water. Guess I need to choose what I want to render correctly- the atmosphere, or the glow.

@Thickbrick: The issue you are describing as " still get glow in the snapshots, but in wrong places: it looks like it was rendered at the same size as the SL window and then tiled over the snapshot " Does that look something like the snapshots i have provided for https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4825 . Look especially at screenshot-2.jpg (it shows more in that one..) Thanks!

I just finally started using WindLight because the Standard viewer is stable on my computer. It's also caused this bug for me.
My card is a 6600 GeForce.

Just encountered this bug tonight, with a Radeon 2600XT card.

Thanks for noting this. It ends up that this has also been reported in VWR-9297 , please track status there. I've resolved VWR-9297 and think I've found the source to the offset/tiled glow issues, hopefully that should take care of this!
