Looks to be fixed now, I can TP there and see it from adjacent sims.
I still have the problem. Others seem to be able to get to the sim. So far this is the only sim that I have problems with.
yes it is. In fact, i have updated my computer with a nvidia 8600, and 2 gb of memory. I still cannot get into this sim, I still have the same problems.
I am still unable to get into this sim - I have all of the problems mentioned earlier even after a major hardware update. . Any help would be really appreciated.
Aemi, this is similar to this issue
What happens when you use Skybeam Stillwater as your log in location Knowledge Base > Second Life Info > Your Avatar > Moving Around > How to appear in a different location upon login? Topic #: 4051-3978 What happens when you tp to any other region ? When you are on a mainland region, what do you see in the next region ? Thank you Its not quite the same. When I tp, it says "contacting new region" and the bar keeps moving without a text status update until I am logged out. This is the only region I have found that has this problem. I can TP to the region next door, but all I see in Skybeam Stillwater is water. Anyplace else I go I see the normal stuff in the neighboring regions, whatever is on the land. I really don't have any trouble Teleporting to other places. I do bet the occasional failure, but it never kicks me out. I only seem to have the problem in this location, and it happens every time I try to go there.
I don't think changing the login location will help much, since I can't get into the sim in any manner that is normal. Aemi, this issue does seem particular to either your Account or the region or a combination of both, although your experience of being logged out, when tp'ng is what happens to most people reporting on
Please try putting Skybeam Stillwater region as your log in location. (I know this is how a friend, who can't tp around the Grid, at all, or see anything but water over any region boundaries, gets around - logging off and logging on when he wants to move !) Have you sumitted a ticket with Support ? http://secondlife.com/support/ There are a few things you can try Reset your Home location to a different region, then try tp'ng to Skybeam Stillwater Ask the owner of the land to restart the region and check that you have all the necessary permissions to tp there. If you have an Alt, can the Alt tp to the region and do you see anything more than just water ? Check to see if you have the same issue with the Official Viewer 1.19.1.4 ? Next time you have a failed tp, please attach your SecondLife log to this issue Knowledge Base > Second Life Info > Solution Finder > Technical Issue > Where do I find my Second Life diagnostic logs? Topic #: 4051-4209 Thank you Reseting home location doesn't work. The sim has already been restarted when this first happened and the permissions are fine - and that wouldn't prevent me from seeing it anyway. Alts cannot tp to the region and see the same thing, just water. And I am using the official viewer.
I don't think its a TP problem. ITs something about the sim that eventually causes the TP failure. I can walk into the sim and when I did it yesterday I would be in water, bouncing around in a falling animation until I fell through the world and was popped back into the water. This kept happening over and over. Here is the log from the last attempt to TP Sounds similar to
Well, after reading a few posts here and looking at the logs that Ellla mentioned I thought it sounded like it was having trouble looking up addresses for this particular region or some other network related problem. After trying many things, I decided to remove my router and plug straight into the cable modem, and then I could get into the sim as normal!!
So I reconnected my router, and now things work. I assume turning the router off is what fixed the problm. The router is an older Lantronix Wireless router, but I don't use the wireless. THanks to all the people who offered help. Thank you very much for your feedback Aemi
