Strife, is this bug about prims with some transparency and/or having textures with some transparency being invisible, or is that a separate bug?
Invisiprims are a historic misfeature that are useful. There are a couple textures that while being transparent in nature are rendered as if they were solid. This has the effect that avatar body mesh and alpha textured stuff are not rendered behind them. Consequently they have been used in avatars to hide parts of the body (or to just cut holes in it). Everything from mechas to tinies use them.
Invisiprims will not work with defferred rendering, as a work around LL has decided to add support for alpha masks on you avatar skin. see VWR-812

The main issue with not getting them to work once more are, quite frankly, any and all products on the grid that make use of invisiprims that are no-mod. The prims cannot be removed and/or replaced with av alpha masks when the time comes, so said products will look quite...incorrect. This may be obvious, but I just felt to state it again: All products that use invisiprims and are no-mod will be permanently broken. The one solution I see, if invisiprims do not get fixed in any way is, to replace the texture asset with a completely transparent normal texture., tho this will also cause older viewers, of course, to stop seeing those products correctly. Fixed for me in Snowglobe 1.2.0 (2958).
Invisiprims behave exactly as they do wither Render Deffered is on or off. Can anyone else confirm please? Example. Truly ugly....
CPU: Dual i386 (Unknown) (2530 MHz) Lillie Yifu, could you please post the full Help -> About Second Life info? It's missing a few vital lines, including viewer version.
