 Description  « Hide
The new "places" search within the latest RC is completely incomprehensible. There's no rhyme or reason behind how the results are presented, no way to sort results, and no way to filter through them aside from scrolling page to page. Some sort of metric needs to be added in order to give the results some form of meaning. Ultimately a combination of several metrics should be utilized to allow the user maximum flexibility while searching. For example the listing's category, a count of real unique visits per month, an average of unique visits per month, the plot's purchase date, average time spent per user(old DWEL method?), and perhaps a star rating based on per user votes. Mainly implement an SL variation of metric standards which have already been established on the web.

The same is true of Groups - there is no ranking of them related to member count. So there is no way of seeing what is popular anywhere anymore. So nobody knows what is the happening place or group for anything anymore. All we're asking for, at the end of the day, is two things - a recorded count, and a ranked count. I'm sure that the databases can have these fields added to them without too many sleepless nights.
