Dont' really know what you folks consider a "meta issue", and don't know where else to post this, so here it is.
Downloaded the RC viewer. Some nice things there (fixed prim rotation problems, as well as wall-to-the-back yo-yo syndrome). I like being able to build in high high sky now. But what I don't like... is the Dazzle interface.
I don't say this as someone who resists change. I love change for the better. But I know from years of working in this industry that Dazzle is too bright and offers not enough graphics contrast to be comfortable to those who use Second Life hours on end. After just two hours of use tonight, my eyes were tired and I knew immediately this was not a good change. (One has to wonder what was wrong with the old interface?)
IMO Dazzle is eye candy, nothing more. Star Wars is fun to watch for a couple of hours. How would you like to have to watch all that action for hours on end, days in a row? Dazzle is hard on the eyes, hard on the sensory perceptors, not good. Dazzle bad. Yuk.
And yes, I know there are people who like it. Means zip. Would be nice to have the option to set our own viewer color preferences and layout, or at LEAST the option to revert to the old layout. Why would Linden Lab think it proper to try and force a viewer coloring scheme on an unwilling public? The negative comments about Dazzle have been numerous... and for good reason. It's a bonafide eyesore.
