 Description  « Hide
Griefers are still able to spam you with dialogs, such as dialogs, web site popups, and avatar animation requests even after you mute the owner of the object. Muting does not stop these at all. This is an ideal path for griefers to attack and they have been doing so for as long as I've been on Second Life. I believe that muting the object or it's owner should stop dialogs of all types from appearing from the object.

Unfortunately, this is still a problem in the current version of the SL viewer. It saddens me to see that this is still an issue, and, as more and more griefers are making use of this with more sophisticated weaponry, it becomes an even larger problem as it causes the viewer to crash. The griefers have apparently fixed this in their viewer, but it is still a problem for us, the users. I have therefore voted for this issue.

This bug is being exploited as a form of greifing where one floods a victim with dialogs and they cannot stop them. As such I'm raising this issue to critical and linking the related crashing attack. Also linking to Meta issues "Anti-Greifing" and "Negative Exploits"

Additionally, even if it were possible to mute an object to stop it's dialogs, most spamming scripts constantly change their name to make them unmutable that way. So even more important is that muting the avatar entirely should stop the dialogs. This doesn't happen, which is needless to say, bad.

Especially the last days again some Linden sandboxes were full of advertising or similar objects spamming the people again and again with blue dialogs, notecard offers and llLoadURL dialogs.

The llDialog dialogs can be still exploited to spam & crash people with thousands of dialogs. A simple Mute by Owner would solve that problem.

Muting an avatar should mute ALL, not only text , sound and particles.

Additionaly one should see the owner of llLoadURL dialogs on the dialog itself to have the chance to mute him.

I have upped this to showstopper since it can be and IS used to crash clients.
