Linden Lab Issue ID: DEV-14746

 Description  « Hide
There are many SL users who have put together web documentation and other information sources related to SL. Many people have to duplicated this information on notecards, especially where product installation and user guide documentation is involved.

Wouldn't it make much more sense to have an inventory object called a URL that when opened from the inventory opens a web page into the viewer browser window? This has the potential to replace notecards as the preferred way of information exchange. Being able to read and view web documentation will significantly improve the in-world experience when residents can include a URL with their products and learning tools instead of notecards.

Vote for this to be a priority!

Thinking about this further...it might be better to call this inventory category Bookmarks or Web Bookmarks. Using the same lingo that people are familiar with in web browsers.

What do you all think this item should have as functionality?

With respect a feature suggestion is not a show stopper class bug as outlined in the ? entry next to that field. Reducing to normal priority as recommended for feature enhancements.

This would help. If we could drop them into notecards, boxes, folders, and other containers as we can with landmarks that would be great too!

(Actually I wish http:// links inside notecards were active, but that's a different issue...)
