 Description  « Hide
RC Client hangs when one core of the CPU gets to 100%. When a session starts, the CPU core will stay right at 100%, and events such as scripts execution & announcements throw it over and cause the "pinwheel" freeze.

The freeze lasts between 5 - 20 seconds, with ocassional complete crashes that require a reboot of the computer.

I am having the same issue with an NVIDIA 8800 GT 512MB graphics card, 2.66 GHz (2) Dual Cores, Mac OSX 10.5.2

It happens every couple of minutes. Sometimes it throws the mouse controls into an altered state (camera view). Sometimes the avatar ends up off the side of a deck or into the ocean because the screen has frozen although the avatar apparently keeps walking/flying. This is a big problem as the screen freezes during all activiites. I have not been able to affect this behavior by changing graphics options.

Also having issues after the freeze... camera view constantly gets set to "joystick flycam" and is stuck in this view. Changing prefs or view settings has no effect. A restart of the SL Viewer is required to reset the view.

I'm also noticing over time one core of the CPU gets to 100% then switches to another core at !00%, eventually it starts cycling thru all four cores (I have a dual-core duo Intel). During this time Activity Monitor is showing SL Viewer as Unresponsive. This happens every couple of minutes. It is happening in all regions visited.

I'm really hoping this can be addressed

It's getting old constantly falling off piers and running into people because the app is freezing!

Thank you.

Dupe of VWR-5574

The dupe says it was for version 1.19.. this issue is still happening with 1.20 RC8. The viewer is unusable as walking and flying continue even though the screen has "frozen".

Mac OSX 10.5.2
NVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
