Yeah, I'm constantly getting this too. Totally messed up. I'm not getting error messages, but I am constantly crashing. The second I login, it just goes.

SL Client 1.20

I'm also having crashes like this. Fortunately, I can give you a region name / place of location where this happens CONSTANTLY. (Ie. in less than a minute.)

It seems it is related to either alpha texture or full bright texture or glow thingies.

Go here:

Turn toward the shop. And go in. It's best to stand in the entrance for a few seconds... that ALWAYS crash me.

WIndows XP sp2
PIV
GeForce 7600GT

Had almost no crashes before this.

I too now crash constantly on the RC client, there is no consistent identifiable thing I am doing to cause this. I never had an issue with previous RC viewers, now if I turn around, fly, walk, zoom, click on anything, it could be any number of things I do, I crash. It used to be the RC viewer was the most stable for me with all settings maxed, this is no longer the case and I can no longer test the software, other than to see how many times in an hour I crash - the log typically states after about 5 minutes, that seems to be my max RC limit

my system specs:
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2.19 GHZ 3.0 GB of Ram
Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT Driver vesion 6.14.11.6944

eta: this is on my island, an empty island with no other avatars around - on the ground and 400ms up in the sky, there isnt anything consistent about it other than I am the only one on the island.

I can confirm the crashing as mandy mentioned. I notice it's whenever I see glow. It doesn't crash if I have shaders off (so no glow), but the moment I turn them on it just crashes if there are glowy objects nearby.

This is seriously bad!

I had pretty good sessions with 1.20 rc, but after enabling Anisotropic Filtering, crashes were seconds after logging in. Turning it off made the difference for me.

I've found the release candidate to be seriously unstable and client crashes have increased by a factor of 3 or 4 as compared to earlier clients. There doesn't appear to be any particular event that causes the client crash as it appears to happen on a purely random basis. Not only does the client crash, but the client window often stays displayed on the screen even though the Windows task manager shows the program is no longer running and I have to log off Windows to get it to go away.

Sad to say, the latest RC 1.20.1 (84760) is just as unstable and crashed in the same manner as 1.20.0 (84332)
