Linden Lab Issue ID: SL-41842

 Description  « Hide
If an IM containing international characters (such as é, ê, à, ù, and so on...) is sent to a group, the message is not sent and the following error comes up:
"Error messaging chat session with <group name>. Error making request, please try again later"

This was not fixed by the 5/02 update.

This Bug terribly distuirbs the functionanlity of german language groups - up to a degree that german language group chat is widely seen as collapsed. If you type in german its hardly possible to avoid theese characters. I strongly urge you to gve this bug a high priority!

I can't test this on French groups, because even IMs in English with no accents never get through...

But international characters are a problem throughout the system: filenames, text input etc etc. Sometimes you get beeped at, other times the input is accepted but later either is missing or comes up as double question marks ??

Duped by VWR-653, I saw mention of this come up before in VWR-513 but for the sake of clarity, this should have its own issue, so thanks for reporting it.

I just can emphasize Thor's comment: It's terrible if you write a phrase with more than four words and with a simple error message everything is gone. TOO LATE all time! NO fluent chat possible! URGENT!
Should be a touch to fix it - swearing an old experienced german software architect.
