I have this same problem. It also happens with peoples names and the voice dot and llSetText.

I tried 1.20 briefly... had the same thing happen. The build lines also look jagged, even with the new antialiasing option. Looked like a disorienting jumbled mess when trying to build.

I've also had this issue and it is constant. Another problem I've had is the edit randomly "dropping" small objects that I had selected, when selected along with larger prims. In addition, when moving my home up to the new 4096 build limit, about halfway there, my selection jumped, and suddenly the lower half was squashed into the upper half. This was not a visual distortion, as I had to go through and untangle them afterwards. And then I had to fly down the whole way with a sensor in order to find the small pieces that had been dropped along the way.

I have completely stopped building and editing items since switching to the 1.20 viewer. I am one of the unlucky ones who gets motion sick easily and this behavior has caused me to stop moving anything at all and halting a current 3/4 region build that I was working on.

Resolving this as duplicated by VWR-6301 which has more votes and a diagnosis of the cause.

byakuya runo added a comment - 13/Apr/08 06:06 PM
How is this a duplicate if this one was created a day before than the other one?

you should release AVI files with the "DX50" or "XVID" fourCC instead of FMP4 to increase compatibility, much more things understand that. the codec itself is the same: MPEG4. don't use "DIVX" however because that refers to a subset of the MPEG4 functionality.

Not only building outline, also floating text and stuff is affected.
As I said on a Duplicate issue:

Noticed similar things too. I assume it's because of "Abrupt velocity changes of SL camera are smoother". The camera has a smoother move for inworld objects, but floating text and such things appear to be seen by a second camera, which still moves abruptly.

Normal procedure is to close the later ones yes, but in this case as I explained in the comment I resolved this one as duplicated by the other one because that has more votes and a patch attached to it which fixes the problem, meaning it is more likely to be looked at. This is common practice in similar cases.

Which one came first is really irrelevant to getting it fixed, it's nothing personal. One or other needs to be resolved as a duplicate to avoid wasted Linden time and work tracking each . Reopening has now caused the same issue to be assigned multiple internal issue IDs.

I will respect your wish to reopen, but hopefully that clarification helps and you will chose to resolve it?

As Aimee commented, this is extremely similar to the reported VWR-6301. However, it has been investigated independently from the other issue as well. We appear to have fixed this internally, in conjunction with the fix to VWR-6301.

I am marking this issue "Fix Pending"... Please verify if it still occurs in version 1.20 RC3, when that is published. The release notes of RC3 should have an entry that says "Fixed: Yellow edit outline is detached from selected prim".

If this is not the case in RC3, then please reopen the issue.

I apologize then. Jira works different than DTSv2 and DevTrack, and those are the ones I'm familiar with due to work.

Bug re-oppened. It now occurs only when the user uses the SpaceNavigator to move the object.

Argent Stonecutter added a comment - 03/May/08 01:24 PM
This is the result of a series of attempts to fix VWR-3172 that have created a whole new class of problems and have not actually fixed VWR-3172.

They all need to be rolled back.

I am updating the internal Issue ID, and noting the change in behavior of the bug with regard to the SpaceNavigator. Thanks again for reporting this.

Fixed (hopefully!) in RC9.
