I have been getting many many reports of this from customers over the last 2-3 weeks. There seems to be a problem properly saving HUD objects (perhaps all attachments) when they are detached. I've heard many different versions of the same thing. Items detached because of switching outfits, because of hitting the release button, detaching all items or even just right clicking on it and choosing detach. The item disappears immediately from the inventory and cannot be retrieved via clearing the cache.
I have lost a HUD this week simply by detaching it as well. I reconstructed all the contents of it into a new( copy of) one, and yesterday when I detached that one it reverted back to the state it was before the reconstruction. So not only did I lose animations,the animations I removed during the reconstruction returned! Sort of like it rolled back to where it was before all these problems began.
I am having the same problem, I took off my chim and it disappeared what makes it so bad I just replaced my dances 2 days ago for them to disappear again today, this is getting crazy, I can even enjoy what I bought because of this issue.

Same problem here, two AO's (ZHAO) lost by two week from my partner. One totally disappeared from the inventory because of the "release keys" button; the other on "replace outfit" from inventory. They have been lost and there's no way to recover em, even clearing the cache. This is annoying, time compsuming (redoing the AO) and a money wasting.

This is a program bug.. not a support issue. Even if CS could refresh all our lost inventory, they can't fix the legitimate bug that is causing it.. See also VWR-6110!

Yes, this is NOT simply a support issue. There is a new bug out there which came about in the last few weeks. Numerous people are losing inventory when it detaches from their avatar.
Please assign someone to look into this bug. And please make 6110 a duplicate of this if anything. This one already has a few votes. I will work on trying to get a reliable way to reproduce this bug. I have a hunch, but I'll need a little time. Thank you for the heads up about this issue. I'll add my vote for the fix and most definitely use extreme caution while in world to avoid a loss.
I have lost my dance chimera with 20 animations inside 2 times. First time I got new animations and also the dance chimera by support request (Sine/Owen) but the chimera disapeared again.
I am in ticket support contact with LL now. The first 2 tickets are standard support answers by LL with tips and tricks I already know but those can't help me to get my itrems back, money, time and FUN. This is by far the BIGGEST HORROR BUG ever happened in SL and I do hope this will be fixed very soon. I was wearing the dance chimera on my chest and I did NOT detach it! It is not only the money I have lost. It is the time I need to find my favourite things. And with this I totally lost the FUN I had with SL.
