I have set the "Send IM to e-mail" checkbox, to get IMs sent to me while I'm offline in my e-mail. That's all cool, but this also sends me all received Group Notices while I'm offline. And I happen to be a member of a few exceptionally active Notice groups, I get dozens of Notices in my mail every day that I usually don't read (Show Starts Now! sent 12 hours ago isn't very useful anymore) and they only eat up my sneakemail monthly 'bandwidth' (data limit).

It would help tremendously if I could choose to have personal IMs sent to my e-mail, while Group Notices remain where they are, inworld.

I had just logged in to suggest this very thing when i spied this issue already open. Might i further suggest that one could control WHICH groups to receive offline, as I wouldn't mind getting notices from a few groups offline, but as the original poster mentioned, some groups are REALLY active.

A third checkbox on the Group Info would be a nice fix, called "Receive Notices when Offline".

That way, groups could be defaulted to NOT send an IM when the avatar is not logged in, unless specifically requested by the member.

Yeah I am getting fed up of all the mail spam too, so came here today to seek a solution.

Why am I not amazed that over a year after this was suggested that it hasn't been actioned!

I don't care about the related issue (SVC-2839) I just want to received IM e-mails and no group ones. It surely cant be that hard to resolve?

We need some further publicity, methinks. Must get more votes.

I have this set: Edit \ Pref \ Communication \ [check] Send IM to Email

. . . so, I see all Group IMs in my email program, which is nice, because it's easier to read them in there.

I don't think attachments are included though, like Notecards, or LMs. It would be nice if they were.

Also, it would be nice if I didn't have to see them again, after I logged on later.

So, I will open up my e-mail and SL client, pull in all IMs first through e-mail, read them, then log on to SL, and then click "ok" to everything without reading them.

E-mail has that "leave copy on server" option. It seems like I should be able to un-check that in here.
