Environment:

Windows Vista Business Edition. Pentium 4 CPU 2.60 GHZ. 2.5 GB RAM. ATI Radeon 1800X Graphics card.

Description

« Hide

Upon recieving an online/offline friends notice from the system, the current WindLight Client will freeze for five to seven seconds if running on Vista. The friends list also shows as containing only (Hippos) and (Waiting), this does not load after time as it does on Windows XP or Mac. This causes Second Life to become inoperable due to large contact lists. Disabling friend notifiers also appears to be nonfunctional.

This is actually very painful, emotion not visible in screenshot.

My profile now reads:

"URGENT PLEA: If you have me on your friends list, please hide your online visibility for me. There is a glitch in Second Life that's making it impossible to use for me due to the number of friends I have and the online/offline alerts freeze up my SL client (regardless of alertsetting). Please tell your friends to do the same. If this message is no longer in my profile (Timeless Prototype) then everything is fine and no further action will be required and no longer a need to pass on the message. Thank you."

Thanks for your report! Sounds like ~~VWR-4567~~, so resolving this as a dupe.
