Just as I'm booting up Second Life Windlight, every time, this version and all other I've tried all give this message (and several others referencing similarly named files) and then hard crash the app back to the finder:

This day cycle file references a missing sky file: A-9PM

I've never managed to get into SL with Windlight and I've tried every version

Try completely removing windlight from your system and reinstalling it.

Already tried - same deal.

Just a note to say this also affects MacOS 10.5.2 also.

I've also uninstalled everything, including the plist, cache etc so that windlight opens fresh like it's never been opened before (default window sizes etc etc). Same deal.

Issue remains the same with SL WL 1.19.0 (79674) and has been identical in every single one I've tried.

Zimzim: It sounds like you have a corrupt installer somehow. Can you completely delete the one you have now and reinstall it from a fresh download directly from http://secondlife.com/community/firstlook.php ?

If this does nothing, then I don't know what else it could be other than an actual hardware failure, since nobody else has seen this problem.

A complete OS re-install has fixed this (and a few others!) on my system. The accumulated problem of progressively updating MacOS for six years without ever doing a clean install no doubt.

BigPapi Linden was correct - machine specific issue that was resolved with OS reinstall from scratch.
