 Description  « Hide
I noticed that very small alpha objects – an invisible prim cube that is part of my prim hair, a titler attachment – now seem to be showing up as black or white objects when the camera is at a normal distance from me or further back. Only when I zoom in closer do they disappear properly.

Also, the same problem happens to prim eyelashes, which depend on alpha textures. At a certain distance, the "raccoon eyes" appear.

I have attached an image to illustrate. You can see the black spot floating just above my head from the invis prim on my hair. This has not happened previously. It looks like the camera is closer than it really is, as I zoomed out then changed the depth of field to get in as close as possible so that it was clearer.

I am also seeing this problem with the latest release of windlight... invisible prims become visable after a certain distance from your avatar

Finally, a bug report about Windlight alpha rendering at a distance that's actually a bug (though no offense to the efforts to minimize the aesthetic impact of certain new features...). I suspect this is still related to the other reports, only this time, the low-LOD efficiencies are quite plainly glitching up.

Now I'm not having the issue myself, but clearly there's a problem here for some. I went over it with Marrik Milos, and clearly something was going wrong for him, which wasn't going wrong before.

Just noticed this on the new windlight (Second Life 1.18.6 (77495) Jan 22 2008 15:25:08 (Second Life WindLight)) as soon as I logged in. Wasn't present in the last version. Invisible prims and those with alpha seem to appear from a distance of a few meters, and vanish when zoomed close. Can see attachments and AOs etc. of people around me.

Some prims seem to simply turn opaque. Others appear textured.
