I had this problem frequently when using this card, because it tries to speedboost by using two streams and two aerials. The driver doesn't always get it right, and when it doesn't you get the same packet of data - usually an IM but it can happen in chat as well - appearing twice. I used to have that and had to keep apologising to people for being my own echo. The problem started the day I fitted the DWA-542 and since I removed it I've never had it occur since. Edit: It also doesn't seem to occur on the DWA542 when you're using it with a router that is not <<N>> capable. A test machine I have shows the problem with an <<N>> protocol wifi router, but doesn't show it with a <<G>> or B/G protocol router.
