Linden Lab Issue ID: DEV-11458

 Description  « Hide
SL Client freezes up and returns either a black screen or a white screen when using mouseview on a fairly consistant basis. Message at top of screen is that SL is not responding.

SL Client freezes up and boots me out of SL when teleporting

SL Client freezes when crossing sims, keeps flying me along until it logs me out

In both instances, I have no ability to file a crash report as I don't get that window option, nor does it appear when I relog.

I've upgraded all drivers, including the NVidia drivers. I am running Vista.

This is a new issue since I upgraded my PC to the new HP d4995t with the latest NVidia card.

Neither issue appears to be region specific as it's happened in all my 8 sims and in a variety of other sims, both new sims where I'm building (i.e., Visa Europe, BCU LiVE1 and LiVE2) and existing sims; both private islands and mainland.

This appears to relate to several other crash reports, including some using the same hardware as I am. Please see VWR-3155, VWR-2997,

Sounds like it is pretty much the same problem I encountered when I still had a 8800GTX. Though my card seemd to crash the system due to a defective GPU, others have added information they had similar issues. I already collected several infos about this problem. Working, you should also contact Zen Linden on this one. We spent a lot of time on tracking this bug.

I don't think there's anything specifically actionable here. I think you have two issues at work here, though.

The teleport issue may be SVC-972.

For the graphic issue, you're encouraged to update the nvidia drivers, downloading from nvidia directly. Historically, the nvidia drives that shipped with Vista have had problematic openGL support.
