What is the difference between this one and VWR-3036 ?
That issue asks for a mute button, this asks to make it work.
That was filed under the rather logical assumption that URLs were muteable. Attached is the patch I hope to commit.
Resolved, thanks for the report.
Yay. Thank you, Tofu. Any idea on a release date? The next 1.18.6 RC would be nice...
This should indeed be turning up in a future 1.18.6 RC.
I've changed all fixed internally issues to Resolved: Fix pending.
The server is still forwarding muted llLoadURL messages to offfline residents via im2email. (and causing IM's to be capped.) Over the last 14 hours, my email box is overflowing with: "The object 'Object' has sent you a message from Second Life: = Object is owned by [a resident that I have muted] And of course, they'll continue spamming me until the Abuse Report team cleans them up because he source of these messages is on neighboring land that has no auto-return set. =( (The VIEWER seems to be muting correctly... as long as the target is online.) That sounds strange jopsy. I don't think llLoadUrl shouls be going to inbox t all. Are you sure it's not llInstantMessage?
The former uses a blue box in the corner, the latter green text in chat, WarKirby-
I agree, it is strange... I have no record of 'normal' messages from this object in my chat&IM logs. ('normal' messages from other objects do show in the logs). The text in the im2email matches what was displayed in the upper-right blue pop-up LoadURL window. I'm quite confident the im2email was generated by llLoadURL - which would be fine - if it originated from objects owned by non-muted residents. I had the same object spam me and my husband. It was a traveling, spinning object which offered hundreds of blue boxes leading to an url. We didn't click the url, just muted and AR'd the person who we thought had offered it to us. We logged out then back in. Then we found and muted the object. We stopped receiving the blue boxes, but the object continued to spam our email (not our IM boxes) from several different sims over the course of a few days during the times we were online, but not when we were offline. The only way I was able to get the IM to offline to stop was to unmute the object. In the course of this spamming, I was unable to receive IM to offline email messages from my regular groups or friends, even though I had not turned that function off, even after I stopped receiving the spam from the object. This happened nearly two weeks ago, and only recently (the past 2 days) have those group IMs come back.
I am working to synchronize our internal tracking with the Public issue Tracker. Internally we have recorded this issue (the original bug report) as Fixed and appearing in the 1.19.0 viewer and later.
I do realize there are comments since then about side-effect or incomplete behavior. Perhaps these should be reported as a new bug so that the description matches the erroneous behavior that is sought to be fixed. |
