It is incredibly frustrating to have to create a folder or notecard, then go in and rename it. When things with the "default name" of objects, folders, notecards etc go in with these default names then you get 20 ojects named object and no idea what is what.

I propose that when saving new things (or any with the default name) into your inventory that the user is prompted with a box to rename the item before save. This will improve the UI enormously and help prevent the "object/notecard/new folder" name hell in the inventories of your users!

I would love to be able to "grab" an item that a user hands to me when I'm accepting it, and tell SL where to put it in my inventory (and yes, optionally rename it). I hate having to dig around and figure out which folder the new item was placed in, losing my spot and whatever I was already doing in my inventory when the offer came.

I like it the way it is. More pop ups are a bad thing.

I understand Gig's point about another popup. I propose that a third button be added to the bottom of a passed notecard at least - as "save as" button. That way the user controls whether they get a pop up or not. And do the same for landmarks.

For things like objects, i think a pop up is the only way. Perhaps if it was a user preference that could be turned on and off it would not annoy Gigs and it would give me the chance to not have 20 "objects" in my objects folder!

I really like the idea of a save as button. It would make it so much easier to organize inventory. Please add this feature!

I would use the 'Save as' dialog very often! Great idea!
