After less than 20 minutes of use, sometimes as little as 1 minute, the viewer begins rendering large protruding spikes that prevent me from doing anything! I can hardly use the Windlight viewer do to this bug!

Voted.

The same thing happens to me, using an X1650 on Win Xp with Sp 2.

I have had this same thing happen to me almost every time when using windlihgt on the Windlight Viewer. However, I had toyed with the settings and set it to ultra. Today, I set it back to the recommended settings of high and it seemed better but I immediately started crashing every time I tried to take a snapshot. No idea where to put this comment now! I am also using th x1950 ATI Radeon Graphics Card on an XP system.

Graphical glitches in an optional viewer are not a showstopper issue.

also, it would be much more useful if you could put up a jpg version of the image. BMP takes a long time to download.

Sounds like your video card is overheating. I've seen Windlight raise the temp on my GCs by more then 30C (as high as 95C). At about 85C I start to see graphics glitches.
