Really dull...
Makes sense to me, there's nothing to reflect at midnight.
@Seg: Sorry, but was there really any point in making that silly comment? What about the artificial light from my table lamp shining on the shiny vase (see my picture)?
@Seg: Apologies, I was a bit rude - but your comment wasn't really helpful
This is a real issue that needs attention, I must however correct my above statement because after rechecking it appears that local lights don't really influence the shininess of objects. Thanks for the heads-up, we're going to investigate this. I also posted here:

NOTE: The "Fixed Internally" resolution status means that the fix has been applied to a Linden Lab internal version, but is NOT in a public release of Second Life yet. "Fixed" means that the fix is confirmed public. Please do not reopen an issue unless you are sure what you are doing. Hope this helps. Oh OK thanks Torley, I didn't read the 'small print' down there - I'll know next time
Uploading a comparison picture of the shiny wall at bug island.
Left is the release viewer. Right is the new fixed shiny in the internal WindLight branch. Top to bottom: noon, sunset, midnight. Thanx again for your reports and helping us to make progress! This bug is fixed in the newest WindLight version – Second Life 1.18.5 (74965). Download link and more info here:
