Seen this in the latest Second Life 1.18.5 (74642) Nov 28 2007 16:14:54 (Second Life WindLight) too.
Spaceport Alpha, flying around amongst the rockets, and some of them just don't rez completely, large sections are missing and stay missing even when waiting for several minutes. They block avatar movement, though, so I suppose the server has delivered the prims to the client, the client does compute a correct collision detection, but just doesn't draw them.

Relogging fixes this, but sometimes it happens again.
