NEw Crash issues making this new viewer Almost unusable.

Viewer crashes after a successful teleport

repro: Teleport Via map or land mark from invantory or Via Teleport Invite.

After successful teleport, Viewer Crashes.

There is no Other way I can Repro this.

Downgrading to critical since this seems to only affect one user. Bump it back up to showstopper if this is a problem for all users of the new release.

Happens to me too. Mainland, private estates, everywhere. Crash on most, but not all succesful teleports.

zach larsen added a comment - 12/Nov/07 12:06 AM
Happens to me on Mac OS X Leopard as well. The screen becomes monochrome and a popup says I can Continue to view IMs or Quit. Every teleport.

selena weames added a comment - 12/Nov/07 04:40 PM

Have the same problem, also running a mac osx 10.4.1. Cannot tp anywhere, tp's dont complete, if i am patient enough screen will just go grey and i am automatically logged out. Have had no problems watso ever until new upgrade 1.18.4(3). havnt beeen able to go anywhere since!!!! As has been said SL is almost un useable and pointless. Please can someone shed some light on this.

I have the same problem. Running Windows Vista. Never had any problems before. I had uninstalled the app for about a month and now reinstalled it. Ever since I cannot teleport at all. I crash every single time I teleport. I even tried downloading an older version of the viewer but it didn't work either.

I also have the same problem. with all 1.18.4 versions and the new release candidate 1.18.5.0. I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.1. I just put in a similar bug report (VWR-3068). For me, there it is not possible to leave the region I initially log in to... no TP, no walking/flying across region boundaries without freezing and/or being logged out.

Linked to VWR-3100.

I am also suffering from this. I crash whenever use my laptop which is a Dell D630. But have never (knock on wood) had this happen while on my Dell Desktop.

I would love for this to be fixed like yesterday. It is inconsistent when I will crash. Sometimes I just stay where I am to avoid crashing. Sometimes I will get an hour or more. My bandwidth is always at zero when I crash. I can not tp - because I will crash when I arrive.

If there are any other details you need, please let me know.

I've been having the same issue for weeks now. It's becoming intolerable. I'm running WinXP and I have an ASUS 8600 GTS graphics card. I've tried everything, including clearing cache, and allowing outgoing TCP 12043.

Dael Ra added a comment - 08/Dec/07 12:55 AM
I had random TP crashes on a my work laptop (ASUS W3000) running XP pro.

It's early days yet but it seems to have gone away since disabling "Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects"

I have added a copy of the logfile. I have others and am keeping track of it. It looks pretty much the same. I hope this can help to get a resolution.

Thanks

I have taken voice off and it seems like I can teleport more freely. I just did it two days ago. So maybe there is an issue with voice.

McCabe Maxsted added a comment - 05/Jan/08 03:42 AM
Workaround that worked for someone using a Radeon X1600 Pro and XP SP2: disabling opengl vertex buffer objects and updating her video card drivers.

I have not been able to teleport at all for weeks. This is from several different computers, in 'net cafes, friends places, my own computers. DIfferent OS's, hardware, and even client versions. I have found a couple of places that I can teleport safely from some of the time, but I cannot teleport to them. I can do short distance teleports within the same sim though.

If it helps, Plush Lambda I cannot teleport from, Plush Xi I often can teleport.

These days I try to teleport somewhere, expect to crash, get the black and white disconnected screen, then I relog direct to the sim and do a short distance teleport. That works, but is a big pain in the arse.

Commenters, please ensure that your issue really isn't what is described in SVC-972

Soft Linden added a comment - 11/Feb/08 12:52 PM
Please only comment on crashes, not failures or logouts

Rascal Ratelle added a comment - 11/Feb/08 09:49 PM
They are commented on because they are either a symptom of the problem, part of the problem or the end result of the problem, there for we felt it important to include logs outs and failures as they were part of what was experienced during a crash, auto or sudden log outs is the result of a crash that occurs with in the client.

If a failure or log out occurs as a result of a crash isn't it important to include that?
How ever if failures and log outs were commented on and they weren't part of or result of the problem then I can understand your issue Soft.
