 Description  « Hide
As of today (11/8), group IM windows are showing "leave" lines for every resident leaving a group IM. This results in hundreds of lines in large groups like Live Music Enthusiasts. The last time LL brought this bug in, hundreds of folks left this particular group, because the "leave line spam" was intolerable. Therefore, this bug adversely affects communication in a big way. It's also terribly annoying that LL has reintroduced such a bug, after dealing with it a half year ago.

In case it's unclear, this bug has returned under 1.18.4.3 (the latest official release version, released dated Nov. 7. 2007).

Indeed, I was just being honest about my viewer, I have not upgraded to the 1.18.4.3 viewer, but this bug is clearly a server-side messaging issue.

This may or may not be the same bug as before, considering the time that's passed since it was last seen. However, it does seem to look remarkably similar. On something that reportedly occurred for at least one person in the group chat where it was seen, at least one group member also received multiple (she said 300, but that could well be exaggeration) copies of one individual, seemingly random IM message within that group chat in question. Observed in the large but not terribly large group, Fashion Consolidated Cafe.

Issue is seen with open source as well as released clients; appears to be server-side; ergo bug SVC-929 the one to track.
