 Description  « Hide
Hello everyone,

This is the new feature project that is useful for a big part group country of residents
(which population increases day by day) in Second Life.

It's the first step of the translation,so few server messages or viewer options have original language typings.
Language pack file in the archived package is called en-us.
You need to rename original en-us file to en-usa2.
And after copying this one to there, both languages will be activated.
So it'll be possible to switch beta language or original one.
I hope, this project will be developed by lots of people and we'll see in newer updates of viewer in the future.
Thank you very much,
Good works.

Good job!

... but I have some comments on how to install the translated files. I believe Turkish translation should be stored in a directory called "tr". Files in en-us should be kept as English.

For the moment, you can patch en-us/panel_preferences_general.xml to add Turkish translation into "Language" selection.

This should really be part of CT, now. Also, a lot has changed since 1.18.5.3, particularly for translations. If you're still around and active in SL, can you post an updated copy for 1.20? It's prolly languished for so long because you forgot to mark "patch attached" (I've fixed that).

Thanks for updating the flag, McCabe!

This came up in triage today as a result of the flag being set. Rob is pinging internationalization to judge what we should do next.

Hello guys:

I am fairly new to the Linden family (my 2nd month) and I'm here to manage localization. I am thrilled to have this Turkish submission. As we have not had anyone managing translations in the past, we have not been able to immediately respond to the wonderful contribution. We are in a little better shape now.
Since Vixen Heron's work is based on an older viewer, 1.18, as McCabe mentioned, we would need to clean it up to make sure it all still works. For example, in viewer 1.20, we changed the skeleton structure on *some* parts of the XML-- so some of his translations wouldn't actually get used properly unless we incorporate the new skeleton into Vixen's files too. Even then, it would not be all localized. So, again, it would be great if either Vixen or some other member of the Turkish community would help us with updating the translation. Would that be possible? It would be extremely useful to everyone who accesses us from Turkey, surely. Thank you in advance!

Thank you all for the progress here. In reference to Danica's post, can someone please post here when the submission has been updated? Thank you!
