If you plug in a new audio device while in a channel, then un-check and re-check the voice chat----
The new device shows in the de-bug window but does not show in the drop down menu in the voice chat
tab. You must quit SL and log back in for it to show in the drop down.

Tried this today
WinXP, SLViewer 1.18.4(3),

Started SL using headset, while in channel, plugged USB Headset in. After togling voice off and on again, the USB headset was listed and selectable, and after choosing it and Applying, was the headset used in SL.

It is al ittle confusing, when you go back into the device selection screen, it looks like it's the system Default that is in use....may need a little tweaking here, or a release note explaining the behavior, IMHO
