Fix Version/s: None

Linden Lab Issue ID: SL-54035

 Description  « Hide
There needs to be a reproduction of the problems discovered with the new Macbook Pro with the nVidia 8600M GT chipset. This will assist apple with fixing the issues that we find. We already have SL which really exposes this, but it would be helpful to have a targeted reproduction. Any community assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't it make sense to attach this one to Meta issue VWR-1978? That way more people might learn about it. So it appears that it's up to LL to convince Apple that it's really a bug in their drivers?

As commented in VWR-1978...

Hi everyone,

There is a new workaround for this issue. Scot Linden discovered that you can use a different driver for this video card and the computer should not crash. He wrote up instructions on the Second Life wiki. Apple has not committed to a date for a fix, but this workaround should help. Hope it works as well for you as it does for me!

Assuming "closed" issues are fixed, not merely fixed internally. Please reopen if they are still problems
