Here, here! A Worn tab. User definable tabs.
Viewer definable tabs could be useful, but Worn is easily done just by typing WORN in the search window.
Typing WORN in search also brings up all the items that have worn as part of their name, 'worn jeans'. A new tab would be easier and less cluttered.
I really hate when people suggest a workaround to a basic user interface issue... Newbies and less technical people don't want a workaround, they want an intuitive interface! I propose that this be expanded, so that not only is there a worn tab, but also that the lower part of such a window show the last X number of items you HAVE WORN so that you can put them back on quickly.
ie. noobie goes to the beach, strips down to bikini, and gets a tp from a friend at the mall... takes 10 minutes to figure out where their shirt and pants went before they go, or worse just hop to the mall wearing only a two piece. With a short history in the worn tab, she could just double click the pants and shirt again and off they go. This would be good, even if it was only session based (ie relog and the list is empty again). ANYTHING along this lines would be a big improvement for users. Attached a patch that adds a "Worn" tab to the inventory, listing all worn/attached items.
Vadim, you rock! Hopefully this will make it into the next RC! Thanks so much.

I made this patch part of the Cool SL Viewer and it seems very popular so far
The only change I made to the patch is that the new Worn tab is sorted following InventorySortOrder instead of RecentItemsSortOrder, which makes more sense and is handier, I think. Hi guys - can you make my life easier and attach a screenshot?
I'm a poor, branch-less Ux person, and screengrabs are way easier for me to evaluate/approve the design. Erica: There's not much to see: It's a tab that says "Worn", and it shows the items you're wearing when you open it. :-D
Still, I've attached a screenshot of it in action – in Imprudence. You can ignore the Quick Filter stuff, that's a separate thing. The Worn tab patch is quite clean and solid, code-wise. I haven't encountered any issues with it. I've implemented this patch in my viewer, and so far I didn't have any problems at all.
Now I just need to break the habit of searching for '(worn' in the main tab. Awesome! Thanks for the screenshot - it really helps. I'm looking forward to using this too. Hope it ships soon.
I've been using this patch with "InventorySortOrder" with no issues. Really is useful. Just open the inventory window, click on the tab, right click the folder and take off items removes a full prim avatar without loosing the HUDS. Then it just clicking the inventory tab and selecting a new avatar to wear folder and "Add to outfit". One thing that occurred the other day was someone asking how to find a "stuck"/bad gesture. Like the "worn" trick, the solution was to search for "active". This gave me an idea, should the "worn" tab also include the "active" gestures too or another tab labeled "active"?
This is a VERY usefull feature, it will change the live of lots of residents and have a very few risk.
Please Lindens asign it and let the patch enter int o QA. I sent a notecard to Erica Linden today asking about the progress of implementing this patch.
This would be good to bring up on sldev@ for possible inclusion in Snowglobe
Revision 2789
Files affected: This will be included in Snowglobe 1.2
I included the modification suggested above by Henri and Techwolf : set sort order to the saved All Items sort order on login, instead of Recent Items. I think saving the Worn Items sort order by itself would be better, but that needs a bug fix from VWR-15495 to be usable, so I didn't include that. Why is this still an issue and being triaged? It's over TWO YEARS OLD and has a working patch.
