 Description  « Hide
Recently in Sandbox Island Extension I was exploring the physics of spheres and noticed many of the basic rolling functions are not working correctly.
1. Make a 3m sphere then hollow it out and make it physical then drop it on the ground. In many of the sandboxes I tried this the sphere just sticks to the ground and will only slide rather than roll. Should just roll and come slowly to a stop.

2. Try pushing the sphere around like playing soccer and the sphere hardly moves, slides, or starts to roll then falls into the ground.

3. If you play around with grabbing the sphere with the mouse and moving it all over the place while bumping into your avatar all sorts of things happen like throwing your avatar into the air or the ball suddenly just flies away.

Strange stuff. I rely heavily on proper physics in SL to do teaching or even team building events so this is messing me up. There are also problems with cylinders too.

Does not reproduce for me, the sphere rolled like it should, never slide or fell into the ground.

RobertKlein, please check you have the latest graphics drivers by either going to your manufacturer's site or by checking in Knowledge Base How do I get the latest drivers for my graphics card?

*Please note System Requirements

Your computer must meet these REQUIREMENTS, or you may not be able to successfully participate in Second Life.

Graphics Card for XP: Minimum Requirements ATI Radeon 8500, 9250 or better

To help improve your performance, you may want to consider upgrading your graphics card.

Thank you : )

Thanks for the help and I will use another computer that has better resources to handle all the load the SL viewer needs.
