 Description  « Hide
Since around April/May as I recall, the water in SL since the update around then went from nice shiney/reflective natural looking water to near transparent dark blue ink that looks like a flat sheet of plexiglass. The ground is clearly visible under it.

No changes in any settings have had any effect on this, as well as changing to Emerald, or reinstalling a fresh full install of the latest SL official release.
In every ty, in preferences/ graphics, the portion of the menu that shows "bump mapping and shiny" and the "reflection detail" are grey out- unavailable. ONLY the tic box for "Bump mapping and shiny" can be selected or not, the water reflections and all the rest cannot- they are greyed out.

Ive tried changing the selection on and off, makes no difference.

Ive assumed till now it was how SL changed it to be, but a friend sent a screen shot an hour ago from his laptop pc, and his water looks like mine did.
Attaching a file of my menu and the water image I see, the menu is from Emerald, but the SL viewer has the same non-selectability for those radio buttons

OK thank Ella, they changed something at the server end since April or May because Im on the same computer I have been all along and before then the water looked fine, then suddenly it doesn't. Guess I'll have to get a different video card then.

Still doesnt explain why the SELECTIONS in the menu are greyed out, I would think one could select them but that if the card wasnt up to it it wouldn't show any effects.
