 Description  « Hide
I just bought a new laptop
I installed secondlife and all went well, but when i logged in, i saw something wasnt right with the graphics in world.

I see abnormal colorful lines, things, covering the land or surounding me when i make a movement with my avatar.
I don't know if it is my laptop or something in secondlife but it doesnt look good when there are things appearing in your view.

What is the problem?

Jeroen, please see Turning off WindLight rendering.

2. If you still see glitches, try to disable 'Vertex Buffer Objects' (VBO)

An extra step that can help (in some cases) is to turn off VBO. This is done in the Hardware Options of your Graphics preferences, because this is a setting on your graphics card.

Here's how

1. Run Second Life from your desktop. You don't have to log in.
2. Open Edit menu > Preferences...
3. Click on the Graphics tab.
4. Click on the button for Hardware Options. Now, look for the fourth option, Enable VBO: Set this to be UNchecked. This means it is turned off.
