 Description  « Hide
When playing at seemingly random (but very inconvient!) times, colors will suddenly jump across my screen and make it impossible to see anything but a strange wall of colors. Is an actual non-physical wall... I can sometimes turn the camera around it, pass through it... etc. Sometimes moving the camera, the avatar, the zoom, or other camera features makes this go away temporarily, but it is always worse when wearing any flexi prims including hair or dresses. I've fiddled with most of the graphics settings, it appears to happen more under low quality than under ultra quality (which I normally use.)

Can find no similiarities in events that cause this to happen, but it happens every time I log in.

Dakina, please see Turning off WindLight rendering.

2. If you still see glitches, try to disable 'Vertex Buffer Objects' (VBO)

An extra step that can help (in some cases) is to turn off VBO. This is done in the Hardware Options of your Graphics preferences, because this is a setting on your graphics card.

Here's how

1. Run Second Life from your desktop. You don't have to log in.
2. Open Edit menu > Preferences...
3. Click on the Graphics tab.
4. Click on the button for Hardware Options. Now, look for the fourth option, Enable VBO: Set this to be UNchecked. This means it is turned off.

Please see the main issue VWR-3258 and add your comments and vote.

A couple of weeks ago, ATI sent us some of their internal capturing software and I was able to capture the triangle glitch bug on my 4850 and send it to them. They are on it, and believe it to be due to some optimizations they made and are working on it. I'll let you all know more when I know more and when they release a fix or give us a workaround.
