 Description  « Hide
(Numbers are that of the attached snapshots)

1. Stand on a place and zoom 100 meters away. Notice that some objects that you know are supposed to be there are not there.
2. Go to that place. Notice the objects ARE there.
3-4. Now zoom to the place you just were and notice the same problem.

This seems to happen for objects that are relatively normal sized and below only.

Yukinoroh, please see issues VWR-12987 & VWR-13868 and add your comments and votes.

Please also see Harleen Gretzky added a comment - 21/Jun/09 01:33 PM on VWR-14270

Try increasing the Advanced>Debug Settings...>RenderMaxNodeSize to 8192, wait 30 - 45 seconds and see if this still occurs. See VWR-13868.

Thank you : )

This looks like a duplicate of VWR-5588.

What more info did you need? Couldn't you have just added a link (relates to) ?

VWR-13868 and VWR-14270 are, if I'm correct, about microprims (which are not officially supported), and VWR-12987 is about changes made to primitives... The prims objects I showed there are just far away, they are not even sculpted or microprims. I believe the SL viewer just does not render them because they are far away from the avatar...

Most of this is probably due to small object culling, see VWR-5588 and VWR-7521. The problem with small object culling is it is based on camera position, instead of avatar position, see SVC-1926.

VWR-13868 and VWR-14270 have nothing to do with microprims, see VWR-14049 for example of a build effected by this, the best way to tell if the rendering limits are the cause of this in anyway is to try increasing the Advanced>Debug Settings...>RenderMaxNodeSize to 8192, wait 30 - 45 seconds and see if this still occurs.

I tried to set RenderMaxNodeSize to 8192, and one day later it has no effects. Moon Metty is right, this is a duplicate of VWR-5588. However I am concerned about why the last comment on 5588 is months ago... Are there just few people with that bug ? One thing I notice though... Client 1.22 does not allow me to zoom that far away, so I can't check if that version is affected or not.

Harleen Gretzky added a comment - 28/Jun/09 02:44 AM
Small Object Culling is not a bug, it is a performance feature, it acts strange due to SVC-1926.

Yukinoroh Kamachi added a comment - 28/Jun/09 02:47 AM
That's what I thought really, but why was the zoom set that far if objects are not rendered that far ?

Harleen Gretzky added a comment - 28/Jun/09 03:00 AM
I would imagine other things effect your zoom, like draw distance and disable camera constraints (which could be why you could not zoom in 1.22)
