1. I Log Into SL
2. I wait to Rez in a quiet area
3. I click the inventory tab and the recent items tab, as the items only start fetching from that tab.
4. SL starts fetching the items but then stops about 12000 items (attached is a screenshot)
5. When it reaches this point the SL window freezes and windows task manager says it is not responding and closes the window
6. I have tried reinstallation, clearing my cache and using a different viewer but nothing seems to work

SapphireSam, please see these articles in Knowledge Base How can I improve performance ? and How do I check for packet loss (network lag)? Please also see this article for suggestions for Turning off WindLight rendering.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. Nvidia have recently released Version:185.85 Release Date: May 06, 2009

If you're using wireless networking, you should try troubleshooting with a direct wired connection; we allow, but do not support the use of wireless network connections.

This article will show you how to get detailed information about the performance of your computer and the Second Life world Statistics Bar Guide

Please update your Windows OS to XP SP3 as recommended by Nvidia.

Please try the latest RC Viewer which can be downloaded from here Release Candidate Test Viewers
