 Description  « Hide
I get these results when I logged on today.
YES I got the latest drivers (installed last sathurday 6th June)
I did NOT have any problems with other games, only with SL it seems.
I asked several people around me if they had problems, a few told me they did not see
anything bad, a few told me they had problems with clothing mostly.
So no one seems to have this issue besides me so far I know at this moment.
I tested it on 4 OFFICIAL viewers and all gave the same result.
SL can not handle the new drivers for my video card it seems.
I love to see this fixed! I will report the same thing to ATI
in the hope they will correct this!

Things I got:

  • Super lag
  • Chat lag (even unable to do main chat it seems after testing)
  • huge mega prim like blocks rotating/stationary around objects and avitars.
  • hardly anything is visible as can be seen in the pictures
  • Blue screen for Windows Vista with first logon (first one ever!)
  • Crashes of SL in general

Viewers used:

  • Second Life 1.23.3 (Nightly) (pictures 01 to 07)
  • Snowglobe 1.23.2 (Second Life OSS) (pictures: 08 to 10)
  • Second Life 1.21.6 (99587) Oct 14 2008 17:42:25 (Second Life Release) (Pictures 11 to 14)
  • Second Life 1.23.3 (122255) May 30 2009 13:13:41 (Pictures 15 to 20)

For short, this latest update of my drivers were really not good for SL.
Somehow I suspect more people have this issue.

Ow yeah, I forgot to add something.

Keeping SL on during this will cause more blue screens and other crashes. So currently I am unable to login till this is fixed :*(

Youri, please see Turning off WindLight rendering.

2. If you still see glitches, try to disable 'Vertex Buffer Objects' (VBO)

An extra step that can help (in some cases) is to turn off VBO. This is done in the Hardware Options of your Graphics preferences, because this is a setting on your graphics card.

Here's how

1. Run Second Life from your desktop. You don't have to log in.
2. Open Edit menu > Preferences...
3. Click on the Graphics tab.
4. Click on the button for Hardware Options. Now, look for the fourth option, Enable VBO: Set this to be UNchecked. This means it is turned off.

Please see the main issue VWR-3258 and add your comments and vote.

Thank you : )

ALL pictures and tests were done on Medium settings, After posting I tried to do it on minimal settings (pretty much everything turned off) and even this gave the same result. It has nothing to do with windlight as well since even land is deformed and disapearing. And please, I am not a nooby :-P I know what I can and can not do

EDIT: to proof my point, pic nr 21

A question, how can soemthing be "resolved" if it is still showing? For that matter even just added? Does that make sense to you somehow? Not to me. Talking about dupe's isnt good either, its related, not a dupe.
