I found an even faster way. Log in and click yourself. The picture freezes, Mr. Spinny comes up and the viewer crashes.

Blackfyr - Please attach one or two crash reports to this issue. Please also copy all of the information from Help > About Second Life into the Environment field. Finally, please let us know if you also see this behavior with the 1.22.11 official viewer. Thanks.

While awaiting the above requested information, I am going to mark this issue Resolved - Needs More Info.

Here's the crash log. I deleted the old one, so this only covers crashes made with the release candidate. This does not happen with the current release version. Only with the newest release candidate.

And I have included the environment info you requested.

Blackfyr, the Intel graphics hardware has always been problematic, especially on Macs. Please note:

http://secondlife.com/support/sysreqs.php

As it implies there, we don't officially support Intel graphics on Macs. You may want to try the technique here to see if it helps:

I was unable to test this before the new RC version came out and rendered this moot. The new version does not have this bug in it. Nothing that caused it to crash with the previous RC has caused any problems with the new version, regardless of the occlusion setting. I would like to note that the occlusion has never caused problems on my MacBook in any previous version of the viewer that I have had access to.
