Give parcel owners an "instant insularization" button. If you select this option, everything on adjoining parcels essentially ceases to exist from the point of view of anyone on your estate or parcel.
While they are in your parcel or estate, you and your guests do not see or interact with anything on parcels that don't belong to you. All they see outside your land is LInden seawater; or perhaps they see the neighbor's land itself, with Linden plants, if any, and mist/fog of some kind, making the terrain vague and dim just outside your property boundaries.
You and others on your property don't see your neighbor's ugly mall or signs or any other prim objects. You don't see the particles on your neighbor's land, and those particles do not intrude into your land. You don't hear sounds produced by objects or gestures on the neighbor's land. You don't see light emitted by the neighbor's objects. You don't see the neighbors or any other avatars on the neighbor's parcel, and you don't read their chat. Objects originating on neighbors' parcels cannot enter your land, so the invisible people on your neighbor's land cannot stand there and shoot you. People on the neighboring land cannot rez anything on your land. They cannot touch, select, edit, activate, pay, or otherwise interact with any objects on your land.
If someone standing on your land cameras around and moves their pointer over the apparently vacant neighboring lot, and clicks, nothing is selected, activated, bought, copied, moved, visualized, or interacted-with in any way.
It would be great if you could choose to "disappear" your neighbors on a parcel by parcel basis, or on an object-by-object basis (for example, disappear your neighbor's mall but visualize hir trees; disappear hir text chat but keep the scenery, etcetera. ).
But if the only way to do this is all or nothing.....then, being able to disappear everything on all adjoining parcels would be better than not being able to disappear anything.
This would cut down on neighbor quarrels and ugliness, parcel intrusion trouble and abuse reports, and adult-oriented-content controversies. It would reduce lag and resource strain by simply not sending a bunch of unwanted data to clients.
