This is small, but you may be able to do something about it before the final version of the release candidate. I have a new laptop (yay!) and it has a fairly nice nividia graphics chip in it, and the SL viewer complains that its not recognized. Even with that, it seems to go ahead and work pretty nicely, but the message is an annoyance. The Environment above will show the graphics adapter. My reading online would put it at about the 9300 speed, but 20% faster..

Aaron, please see Gellan's comments on VWR-12581 comment - 25/Mar/09 09:47 PM and VWR-11527 comment - 12/Jan/09 06:58 PM .

There are two possible workarounds until the new Nvidia Graphics Card is added to the supported cards list.

Thank you : )

The new release candidate 1.23.0 also has this problem. Well, I suppose its a little worse - 1.23.0 claims that the Nvidia Geforce G 105m does not meet minimum requirements for SL. Which is palpably wrong. C'mon folks this isn't that hard. The part seems to have its lineage in the 9300 and according to benchmarks is about 20% faster - so maybe the correct equivalent is the 9400m.

I'm getting the same problem with a GeForce G 105M/PCI/SSE2 card in my new laptop.

In addition SL keeps setting Texture Memory to 128MB, presumably because it doesn't recognise the card, and I can't override this and get it to stick. With every relog it's gets set back to 128MB and I'm in the Land of Blur again. Bypassing the Hardware Probe doesn't seem to help either.

Any progress or hints on this issue?
