Sariel, please see the Meta-Issue: Voice Issues with Viewer 1.22 VWR-12487 and add your full computer environment, Help > About Second Life [copy and paste], including the Viewer you are using and the Region(s) where you have this issue, comments and vote on one of the linked issues.

Please run this test http://www.testyourvoip.com/ to identify common problems.

If your Voice is correctly set up and you are using a Windows OS please try this workaround

  • in Windows Task Manager find SLVoice.exe , right click and End Process
  • in Second Life Viewer go to Edit > Preferences > Voice Chat
  • uncheck the Enable Voice Chat box. Click Apply and OK
  • go to Edit > Preferences > Voice Chat again
  • check the Enable Voice Chat box. Click Apply and OK
  • wait one or two minutes for Voice to connect
