 Description  « Hide
When running SL the graphics break down in the SL window. Have checked and my GPU is not overheating (have tried updating the drivers and using older drivers)
Sometimes I will be running 2 copies of SL and one will stay good and the other will go funny (radom lines appear on the screen around the centre of my charactor)
Is there an issue with ATI cards and SL as I did get the same problem with my old ATI 9700 GPU (NV 8800 did not give me problems!)

Jace, please see issue VWR-3258 and add your comments and vote.

Please also check with your Graphics Card manufacturer for an updated version of the graphics drivers. ATI have recently released Catalyst 9.4 OpenGL 2.1.8577. There are some issues with this Catalyst, please see the links on Meta Issue VWR-12080, so you might like to try Catalyst 8.12 OpenGL 2.1.8304.

Turning off WindLight rendering.

2. If you still see glitches, try to disable 'Vertex Buffer Objects' (VBO)

An extra step that can help (in some cases) is to turn off VBO. This is done in the Hardware Options of your Graphics preferences, because this is a setting on your graphics card.

Here's how

1. Run Second Life from your desktop. You don't have to log in.
2. Open Edit menu > Preferences...
3. Click on the Graphics tab.
4. Click on the button for Hardware Options. Now, look for the fourth option, Enable VBO: Set this to be UNchecked. This means it is turned off.
