Everything, Not just glow effects, are showing through textures that are supposed to be solid if they are PNGs or TGAs. The reason I'm posting a new issue and not posting in the " Glow effects " one is because this issue is separate. It's not just glow effects showing through...

It's water, Sunlight, Glow Effects, Grass, Buildings, Trees — You name it. If the texture is a PNG everything shows through it slightly....and it's not fixed in the RC otherwise I wouldn't have to shove a black prim behind my in world sign to make it legible.

Pictures of some examples provided below, I'll take some more of my sign later.

These are pictures of my store sign. One has a black prim behind it to block the light and make it legible. The other does not have the black prim behind it, and as you can see there is light that messed up the text as well as the tree behind it is showing through.

The sign is 100% Opaque, No alpha at all...Except for the legs of it. The part with text should be solid... But isn't.

I should also add that behind my sign there is nothing that has glow effect on. Just a window. That's it. So with the sign it's not glow effects that are showing through.

Again: Everything shows through solid alphas. Trees...Water...Fences....Names...Everything. Not just glow, and it creates a lot of problems for designers making buildings and signs where windows are needed and things of that sort, because then you have a building that shows the outside all the time.... As well as clothing: Making a skirt with PNG textures means that the skirt pieces will show the other skirt pieces behind it and create a very odd looking effect.

1.23 RC is not out yet.

Most of what you are seeing looks to be VWR-27, possibly a duplicate of that issue.

Anything alpha will show through alpha, because of the fameous alpha sort bug. Unless someone can fix the sort bug (which most agree is un-fixable), not much can be done about this.

Harleen Gretzky - I marked the most recent Release Candidate because I figured that was the most recent Release Candidate out... I figured anything not out would be labeled Beta, or Aditi. - shrugs -. So I've got the candidate before 1.23 then. Easy fix.

Also, It's not a duplicate because that issue is more specific then this one. The one I'm reporting is that everything has issues with Alpha... Not just glow.

Also: These things never happened when I first joined second life, and for me it's only been the last few versions of the viewer... Normally when I make a 100% opaque sign it does not have issues being read... Until lately...which now it does because apparently even fake sunlight shows through it.
