 Description  « Hide
All versions seem affected by this graphics bug with the latest ATI drivers. The whole graphics panorama with go all abstract expressionist and keep getting worse till one is forced to relog to clear it. I am using the latest release candidate, but it seems to also affect the latest regular viewer....the graphics, even on the lowest setting, go all crazy haywire and force a relog to clean up the act.

Can you supply your environment from Help->About Second Life and possibly a snapshot of what the problem looks like.

Description: Latest RC as well as latest regular client (1.23.4) running on Catalyst 9.4, 9.5, 9.6 / ATI Radeon HD 4800 / Windows Vista (64bit) produces 'random rectangles' all over the scene. First impression was that the effect can be reduced by setting graphics profile from "High" (default setup after installation) down to "Middle" and that the effect is caused by transparent prims, but the scene still gets destroyed...

Will provide support data in a couple of hours.

Batshelm, please see Turning off WindLight rendering.

2. If you still see glitches, try to disable 'Vertex Buffer Objects' (VBO)

An extra step that can help (in some cases) is to turn off VBO. This is done in the Hardware Options of your Graphics preferences, because this is a setting on your graphics card.

Here's how

1. Run Second Life from your desktop. You don't have to log in.
2. Open Edit menu > Preferences...
3. Click on the Graphics tab.
4. Click on the button for Hardware Options. Now, look for the fourth option, Enable VBO: Set this to be UNchecked. This means it is turned off.

Please see the main issue VWR-3258 and add your comments and vote.
