 Description  « Hide
1. observe Low FPS when only two avatars are in view
2 Set graphic sliders down to low and observe no change in FPS at all
3. Remove attachments and get rendering cost to 1 to see any improvement in FPS

Ping Sim watching for say about 10 seconds can average from 140 msec and 302 msec

also watching it when TPing to another sim will make it reach 1000msec

Packets in is lower then packets out which is strange as if your downloading texture image you would expect it to be higher

Packet loss varies Per log in, some times it will reach 5.5% packet loss in about.

I have not changed any settings on my graphics card from using 1.22.10 to 1.22.11 but I definitely noticed a decrease in FPS between both viewers

Sephy, if you have this issue again, please run a Traceroute and attach the text file to this issue. How do I check for packet loss (network lag)?

Thank you : )

Sephy McCaw added a comment - 13/Mar/09 10:26 AM
added traceroute file

shows none returned packets on Dallas and LINDEN RESE

Sephy, thank you very much for your feedback.

The Traceroute does not have a time on it but the issue you spotted could relate to the Second Life Grid Status Report - Login Issue - Teleporting and Support Portal Access.

If you see this issue, "low FPS, high ping sim, unusual packets in and out, packet loss", again please check the Grid Status Report and if there is nothing reported, please run a Traceroute and Submit a Ticket with Support for Region/Account-specific help.

Thank you : )

Have all the exact same problems as Sephy, and no its not an account/region problem.

and like him cannot submit ticket because my account is basic......

Edited to add: Before anyone goes off on a tangent about this being my ISP, I've run frequent tests on both 1.20 viewer and the 1.22 viewers on two different ISP connections and can reproduce the same traceroute, packet loss, low fps. Considering this issue is arising from two different sources ie: Sephy and myself and we do not share the same ISP see attached traceroute fext files its proof enough that it is not our ISP that are causing this issue.

And to add to this edit, this problem didn't surface for me until the release of either the 1.25.6 server or when the VPN to LLNet went through (as both of these were released/set up within a 24 hour span of the other)

Have reset router, have run without router and straight through modem, have had software firewall off, have uninstalled 1.22, completely cleared pc of all files and reinstalled, have even held tongue in particular fashion when crossing fingers and hoping for the best......nothing works............

Your move....

Same problem here. I asked for Congierge support and they don't know how to fix it. LL says: its your ISP, my ISP says: its behind our network. How stupid it is... it looks like a cyberwar or something because i have no packet loss in my country, only when i download or use internet services outside my country and its huge when i use USA websites and services. Mostly 80% packet loss.

I have tryed this:
Other computer
My computer on a other ISP at the neighbour
Fresh install of system and only SL
Downgrade my connection because there where some small problems
Removed my entire network at my company and installed a new router cables and switches
Telephone company have done a line scan
ISP have done a line scan
And no... i don't use wireless, i have gigabit network here with Cat 6 cables.
Rebooted my private estate

Nothing helps. Whats going on?

Frame drops only with secondlife when it have to load things. When i standstill i have 80fps to 90fps. When i move then it calapse to 6fps or so.

Strange problem. It was good 5 weeks ago. I had all on super, ultra 16x antialiasing, antisotropic on, drawdistance 512 and all set to high. It changed in 1 day, nothing changed on my sim and i have it anywhere.

I think... its a problem on LL side. The graphiccard don't understand the instructions of sl. But thats my opinion.

What do you think?

Greetings

if you cant figure out i enclose the .txt file "Paket lost"

OMG! As you can see the packet lost is because your servers, as mi IP service (first three numbers) are all 0% lost, please fix this issue ASAP SL is running really really bad this past two weeks, specially in the adult continent, makes me go BLEH!

Delana Demonia added a comment - 28/Aug/09 01:09 PM
I experience HUGE packet lost, usually on traffic times like 4 to 10pm. the attach shows the problems comes in a level 3 host, or something...

first .txt shows route tracker in the bigging and the second after 5 minutes; clearly the packet lost is on other servers and not my !P service/computer

if i connect very early in the morning the packet lost is a little better, so i can somewhat built and enjoy a little better the SL experience. but i can't connect all the time at late hours, please fix this issue...
