Description

« Hide

-clicked on Second Life shortcut on desktop
-Detecting hardware box comes up but then nothing happens
-click on Second Life shortcut once more
-Second Life Alert box appears with the message ' Second Life appears to have frozen on the previous run. would you like to send a crash report?
-I then select yes
-The Second Life Crash logger comes up stating Gathering Hardware Informaiton. App may appear frozen.
-Another Second Life Crash logger comes up stating Sending to server, try 1...
-Another Second Life Crash logger comes up stating Sending to alternative server, try 1...

the detecting hardware box comes up again then nothing happens

Please provide more details of your problem, including:

Which version of the client are you using? (This can be found in Help, About Second Life)
Your full computer specs (Also in Help, About Second Life)
Please attach the crash report to this issue (https://support.secondlife.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4417&task=knowledge&questionID=4209 will tell you where to find it; you are looking for a file named SecondLifeCrashReport.log)

Please re-open this issue when you have added the additional information.

I went into the application data folder and found a crash report.

i have an
AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+
1.67 GHz. 2.00GB of RAM

I have a ATI Radeon x1650 pro graphics card

And i have just downloaded the Sedcond Life viewer this evening.

Joca, please see this article in Knowledge Base When I start Second Life, the crash logger comes up briefly, then it disappears. Second Life never loads. What do I do?

Can you clarify that you have run SL on this particular system in the past or not? If you have run it in the past on this system, uninstall SL to include deleting the application directory (C:\Documents and Settings\Me\Application Data\SecondLife). Than re-install SL and try again.

If you have never run SL on this system, ensure that you have the most current driver for your graphics card. See ~~VWR-285~~
