 Description  « Hide
For the past couple of days I have noticed that texture quality has dropped whilst working on my projects. At first, I had thought it was my system, but after trying different clients and ATI drivers it showed no difference on the problem.

Also I have noticed that the lossless compression option on the upload image is checked and greyed out on clients I have tried. I upload my work into SL as .tga files, and since noticing the problem have tried using compressed and uncompressed to test. The results were still the same. However, if I save the texture to my PC, they look as they should be.

I have attached 3 images, one of how it looked before the problem, one of the texture I have uploaded and one of how it currently looks.

Reka, it is possible you are seeing a similar issue to Textures in 1.21.6 don't load even after clicking them VWR-11418 and other issues linked to Meta-Issue: Textures loading worse in 1.21/1.22 VWR-8503

Please see dan linden added a comment - 07/Jan/09 06:13 PM on VWR-8503

If you're rezzing a texture and not seeing it all after 10 to 20 seconds, please report that in VWR-11418 "Textures don't load even after clicking them". Adding a snapshot of the texture console is crucial to seeing what's wrong. The description of VWR-11418 explains how to do that.

If this is a duplicate, please add your comments and vote to the appropriate main issue.

Thank you : )

Hi Ellla,

I've been doing some testig with a friend of mine on this. I have a Ati 9800 pro with 128mb currently (nVidia card died a month ago). As I mentioned, I the texture not displaying correctly as shown on the third snapshot.

My friend has two systems, one with a nVidia is a Quadro FX 570M 256mb and the other with Ati Mobility FireGL v5200 256mb, both of his is seeing the textures I uploaded displaying correctly.

I'll add to the VWR-8503 ticket, as I don't know what else to try from this point.

Thanks

Can you please provide other examples?

Reka Rockett added a comment - 18/Feb/09 03:50 AM
Zip file containing further examples as requested.

Example 1 & 3 are the original textures
Example 2 & 4 are the inworld images of those textures that are showing a degrade in quality.

Example 5 is friend's inworld image of the texture I am seeing degraded inworld.

Alexa, just to let you know the 9.2 Catalyst drivers that ATi have released has now resolved my pixelated texture problem, so this ticket can be resolved.

Thanks,

Reka
