 Description  « Hide
Recently upgraded my hardware to the nVidia 9800+ GTX... This issue didn't occur with my older card. My drivers are up to date...

1. Attempted to edit appearance
2. Tried to edit the 'shirt bottom'
3. Discovered that the sliders moved from 0 to 100, but did not change the shirt bottom, sleeve length, or any other features on my viewer...
4. Verified that other residents, using different graphics cards and/or different viewers, could see the changes to the shirt, while I could not...
5. Searched for related issues on JIRA. Found several similar issues relating to nVidia cards; listed as resolved....
6. Got frustrated, and submitted a new issue...

It looks likely that you have an NVIDIA graphics card with version 177, or later, drivers.

There are known avatar rendering issues for these driver versions:

  • VWR-7957 (Clothing skinning error on nVidia)
  • VWR-9358 (Texture rendering problem Nvidia 178.13 release drivers)

The following workaround has been reported:

  • Enable the Advanced Menu (Ctrl-Alt-D)
  • Disable rendering of Palletized Textures (Ctrl-Alt-F7, or Advanced/Rendering/Features/Palletized Textures)
  • Rebake (Ctrl-Alt-R)

This bug is fixed in 1.22 RC1 and later (available from http://www.secondlife.com/downloads, under "Test Viewers")

I forgot to mention that I cleared cache and relogged several times. This seems to be a persistent issue.
