Linden Lab Issue ID: SL-46569

 Description  « Hide
Original summary: "Save, Don't Save, Cancel dialog shows when unneccary (Classifieds)"

Here is how to duplicate it:

1) Create a classfied ad (you might need multiple ads).
2) Close your profile and save the ad.
3) Open your profile and click on each ad, but make no changes.
4) Close your profile.

The Save, Don't Save, Cancel dialog pops up once for each ad you looked at. This is annoying and unnecessary. It should only pop up when you make a change. And if you choose to save it, you are going to lose any stats you might have had.

I've seen similar behavior after viewing a Group Info window (but still trying to solid repro), which makes even less sense, as I can't change the Group Info at all, so why ask me to save non-made changes?

Ephemeral Rainbow - 13/Jun/07 08:22 PM
Viewing another persons classified adds in their profile also promps you with the Save, Don't Save, Cancel option when you exit their profile. Which would be expected if i could edit their adverts, or actually did!

Yes I have been encountering this since the last update as well. Quite anoying.

Torley Linden - 27/Jun/07 08:55 AM
I managed to repro this too, thanks for reporting and commenting.

See VWR-423 for patch

Fixed by Simon Linden earlier! I've let him know about your patch too, Hamncheese... thanks. :)

Hamncheese Omlet - 28/Jul/07 05:14 PM
This issue is in 1.18.0.6 still. Do you mean that Simon fixed this after 1.18.0.6? My patch for VWR-423 fixes this one as well.

Hamncheese Omlet - 29/Jul/07 07:25 PM
Downloaded 1.18.1.134 (Firstlook) and issue still exists....so I'm going to keep my eye on this issue.

Torley Linden - 07/Aug/07 12:07 PM
@Hamncheese: Yes, it hasn't been fixed in a public release *yet* (I'm on 1.18.1.2 right now). We'll change resolution status from "Fixed Internally" to "Fixed" when that happens.

Hamncheese Omlet - 07/Aug/07 02:13 PM
Ahh I misunderstood about the fixed earlier comment. Hopefully my solution/changes are similar enough to not be wasted effort for Simon.

I was just in the same situation. I was looking at someone else's classified. It prompted me to save, which I did because I knew the original poster was changing the classified. and it charged me the classified ad rate for the other person's classified. I'm running 1.18.0.6 of the normal client.

Mercia Mcmahon - 26/Aug/07 10:11 AM
Jessica, as you are only charged for publishing the Classified and then on weekly auto-renew, I think that by saying yes to saving that the system thinks it was creating a new Classified. I hope it was not a 23000L$ Classified! Has a duplicate Classified been created in your Profile?

Torley Linden - 29/Aug/07 04:14 PM
FIXED in 1.18.3 Release Candidate viewer, an optional download. More info about what this means:
