-STEP 1: Logged in to Account
-STEP 2: Open Chat/IM
*Observed: Numerous messages sent by third parties while account was logged in, but were undeliverable
-STEP 3: Typed message to alternate account
*Observed: Messages sent to alternate account
*Expected: Message delivered to alternate account
*Observed on alternate account: Messages appear to come from an account that is offline (Account in Friends list is not Bold)
*Expected: Message delivered from online friend.
-STEP 4: On alternate account attempted to reply to message
*Observed on alternate account: Message is unable to be sent :: [2009/01/03 0:17] Second Life: User not online - message will be stored and delivered
*Expected: Message to be delivered
*Observed: Silence from alternate account.
*Expected: Ongoing communication with two online accounts.
-STEP 5: Log out
-STEP 6: repeat steps 1-5 with same results

I think part of the problem is with the asset server my account is located on as parts of my inventory are unaccessible

This is a picture of two acounts, both logged in, trying to talk to one another, but the server thinking they are both offline.

Ashlee, please try clearing your Cache

Knowledge Base > Second Life Info > Menus and Controls > How do I clear my Second Life cache?

Please also try completely uninstalling and reinstalling your Second Life Viewer

Knowledge Base > Second Life Info > Knowledge Base > Support > Troubleshooting > How do I fully uninstall and reinstall Second Life?

After uninstalling and reinstalling it now seems to work properly. Thank you
