I pose an avatar on the couch or in my photobooth. I need to shoot some pictures with the Snapshot tool. In the sweetspots for the camera, the hair has disappeared and or other head prims like neko ears are also gone. This is not an alpha issue because the background texture is solid.
This problem has recurred in the public release viewer 1.21.6 after it was claimed in several other similar Jiras that the problem had been resolved. In 1.21.6 it is back and it is proving to be a real handicap to my avatar photography.
Camera zoom and vertical angle are critical elements to pop this effect in and out and it is most devastating at closer camera placings.
Pic01 is taken before the effect happens and Pic02 is when the camera is zoomed a little closer. The images provided are crops from very much larger snaps. So it's clear that having an avatar zoomed to take up a larger area of the scene means an automatic lost hair snapshot.
[edit:] Relogging may have some involvement here, sometimes exacerbating the problem, sometimes overcoming it. In addition, shorter draw distances are implicated. I was using 64 metres — increasing to 128 metres may have overcome the problem. I prefer to use 64 metres as it helps to speed rezzing of vendors in shops. Anyway, the main impact here is that a POSED avatar loses hair whereas a normal standing avatar does not. That makes no sense at all.
